First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study tests whether a short, low-intensity exercise test called SHAPE™ can be used in older adults (over 60) before moderate- to high-risk surgery. The goal is to see if the test is practical and if its results can help predict recovery and complications. Participants do one 35-minute visit with the test and a questionnaire, then a follow-up call. No changes to medical care are involved.
