First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study tests whether a type of diabetes medicine (SGLT2 inhibitor) can reduce heart attacks, strokes, and other heart problems in people aged 60+ with high blood pressure and a history of heart or blood vessel disease. About 3,000 participants will take either the drug or a placebo alongside their usual treatments. The goal is to see if adding this drug helps control blood pressure and prevents further damage to the heart and blood vessels.
