Hidden danger? study probes surgery risk for millions on common diabetes drugs
NCT ID NCT07127406
Summary
This study aims to understand how often a serious but hard-to-spot complication occurs in patients taking SGLT2 inhibitor diabetes drugs after surgery. Researchers will observe 300 adults who take these medications and are recovering from surgery to see if they develop this condition and how it affects their hospital stay. The goal is to gather information to improve safety guidelines for patients needing surgery.
