First seen Mar 18, 2026 · Last updated Jun 12, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a daily pill called empagliflozin (a diabetes drug) can help repair blood vessels and heart function in people who recently had a major heart attack. About 80 adults, some with diabetes and some without, will take the drug or receive standard care for 12 months. Researchers will measure artery stiffness, blood vessel lining health, and heart muscle movement using non-invasive tests.
