NCT ID NCT07060417

First seen May 30, 2026 · Last updated Jun 15, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study tests whether empagliflozin, a drug currently used for diabetes, can improve blood vessel function and exercise ability in veterans with chronic kidney disease (CKD) who do not have diabetes. About 52 participants will take the drug or a placebo for several weeks. The goal is to see if the drug helps blood vessels work better and improves physical function, without focusing on curing the disease.
