Heart drug trial aims to shield high blood pressure patients from heart attacks and strokes
NCT ID NCT06804161
Summary
This study is testing whether adding a medication called an SGLT2 inhibitor helps prevent serious heart problems in people with high blood pressure who are already at risk. It will involve 3,000 participants aged 60 and older who have high blood pressure and a history of heart issues or other risk factors. The goal is to see if this drug, already used for diabetes and heart failure, can better protect the heart and blood vessels in people with high blood pressure.
