New drug aims to limit heart damage after severe attack

NCT ID NCT07306182

Summary

This study is testing an experimental drug called SGC001 in people who are having a major heart attack in the front of the heart. The goal is to see if the drug can reduce the amount of permanent heart muscle damage and lower the risk of future heart problems like heart failure or death. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the real drug or a placebo (dummy treatment) along with their standard emergency heart procedure.
