Diabetes & intimacy: study probes hidden health risk
NCT ID NCT07286500
Summary
This study aims to find out if sexual activity increases the risk of dangerously low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) in adults with type 1 or type 2 diabetes who use insulin. Researchers will remotely monitor 100 participants for 3 months using their continuous glucose monitors. Participants will privately mark the start of sexual activity in their app, allowing researchers to compare blood sugar levels on days with and without activity to see if there's a link.
