Summary

This study is testing a new treatment strategy for severe diabetic macular edema, a leading cause of vision loss in people with diabetes. It compares the current standard of care—ongoing eye injections—with an approach that starts with injections but switches to a gentle, non-damaging laser once the swelling improves. The goal is to see if the laser can maintain vision gains with fewer injections, less discomfort, and lower cost.
