NCT ID NCT07434882

First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tested whether a mouthwash made from sesewanua (Clerodendrum fragrans) extract can reduce bacteria in the mouth, especially Streptococcus mutans, which causes cavities. One hundred female students used either a 1%, 2%, or 4% sesewanua mouthwash or plain water. Researchers measured bacterial levels before and after use to see if the plant extract helped.
