First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study tested a new rapid blood test called SeroSelectTB to see if it can diagnose active tuberculosis (TB) faster than current methods. Over 9,000 adults in South Africa, Tanzania, and Ethiopia who had symptoms of TB or pneumonia took part. The goal was to see if using this test at the first clinic visit reduces the time to diagnosis and treatment, which could help stop the spread of TB and save costs.
