Less invasive nose surgery may reduce complications

NCT ID NCT07434765

First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study compared two surgical techniques to fix a deviated nasal septum: traditional septoplasty and a less invasive endoscopic method. 210 patients aged 16 to 50 were randomly assigned to one of the two groups. The goal was to see which approach leads to fewer problems like a remaining curve, a hole in the septum, or scar tissue.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

surgery (septoplasty)

What this could lead to

If successful, this could show that a less invasive endoscopic septoplasty is safer and just as effective as the traditional approach.

What could go wrong

This is a small, single-center study with 210 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. Surgery always carries risks like bleeding or infection.
