Blood test could predict survival in deadly septic shock

NCT ID NCT01231672

Summary

This study aimed to validate a scoring system that uses early blood test results to predict which patients with septic shock are most likely to die within one month. Researchers enrolled 780 critically ill patients in intensive care units to test how well the score works. The goal is to help doctors identify high-risk patients earlier, not to test a new treatment.
