Scientists track hidden damage from Post-Surgery sepsis
NCT ID NCT07442552
Summary
This study aims to better understand how sepsis (a severe infection) affects the body's systems in patients recovering from major abdominal surgery. Researchers will observe 40 patients, comparing those who develop sepsis to those who do not. They will measure blood markers, heart function, and tiny genetic molecules to learn how sepsis causes damage and to find early warning signs.
