New blood test could help doctors predict which sepsis patients are most at risk

NCT ID NCT06654895

Summary

This study aims to validate a new blood test that measures a protein called IL-6. The goal is to see if a specific level of this protein can accurately predict which patients with severe sepsis or septic shock are most likely to die within 28 days. The study will enroll 700 adult patients who are admitted to the ICU with these conditions. Researchers will collect blood samples and track patient outcomes to see how well the test works.
