Blue dye could spare ovarian cancer patients from major lymph node surgery

NCT ID NCT07508306

First seen Apr 05, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study tests whether a blue dye injected into the ovary can help surgeons find the first lymph node that might contain cancer in people with early-stage ovarian cancer. Currently, standard surgery removes many lymph nodes, which can cause side effects. The goal is to see if this dye-guided approach is accurate enough to replace the more extensive lymph node removal. About 30 adults with stage I or II ovarian cancer will take part.
