First-Ever croup vaccine tested in kids via simple nose drops

NCT ID NCT00186927

Summary

This study is testing a new experimental vaccine given as nose drops to try to prevent croup, a common respiratory illness in young children caused by a virus. The vaccine uses a harmless virus similar to the one that causes croup. Researchers are checking if the vaccine is safe and if it helps children's bodies build protection against the illness. The study involves 54 children aged 1 to 6 years old.
