Could nerve damage protect stomachs from popular diabetes drug?

NCT ID NCT07156591

Summary

This study aims to understand if diabetic nerve damage changes the risk of a slow-emptying stomach for people taking the diabetes/weight-loss drug semaglutide. Researchers will observe 460 patients with type 2 diabetes who are taking semaglutide and scheduled for an upper endoscopy. They will compare stomach contents during the procedure between patients with and without nerve damage to see if one group has a higher risk of food or liquid remaining.
