New hope for young adults whose obesity resisted lifestyle changes

NCT ID NCT05574439

Summary

This study is testing whether a medication called semaglutide can help young adults (ages 18-28) who have obesity that did not respond well to intensive lifestyle programs when they were children. About 180 participants will receive either the medication or a placebo for over a year, alongside lifestyle advice. The main goal is to see if the drug leads to a greater reduction in body mass index (BMI) compared to the placebo.
