Summary
This early study tests whether semaglutide, a drug already used for type 2 diabetes, can protect the body's insulin-producing cells in people with stage 1 type 1 diabetes. The goal is to see if it can delay or prevent the disease from progressing to the next stage. Fifteen adults will receive either semaglutide or a placebo, and researchers will measure hormone responses over time.
