Summary
This study tested whether semaglutide (the medication in Ozempic and Wegovy) could safely help people with alcohol use disorder drink less. 80 participants received either the real medication or a placebo injection weekly for 12 weeks. Researchers measured changes in drinking habits, safety, and even used brain scans to see how the drug might affect cravings.
