New self-setting filling could make cavity repairs faster and easier
NCT ID NCT07457749
First seen Mar 13, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study tests a new type of filling material that hardens on its own, compared to a standard filling that needs a special light to harden. The goal is to see if the new material works as well for cavities between back teeth, while making the procedure simpler and quicker. About 50 adults with cavities will receive one of the two fillings and be followed for two years to check how well the fillings hold up and if they cause any tooth sensitivity.
