Could a simple Self-Swap replace the speculum for cervical cancer screening?
NCT ID NCT06611540
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study compares the accuracy of HPV testing on self-collected vaginal samples versus samples collected by a doctor during a pelvic exam. About 500 women referred for colposcopy or cervical procedures will provide both types of samples. The goal is to see if self-collection is a reliable, more comfortable option to increase cervical cancer screening rates.
