Less drilling, less pain? new dental surgery approach shows promise

NCT ID NCT07353580

First seen Jan 22, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study compares two ways to perform dental root-end surgery. The standard method removes the entire infected area and uses stitches. The new method removes only part of the lesion and uses a medical glue to close the wound. The goal is to see if the gentler approach leads to less pain, swelling, and faster healing. Twenty-four adults with persistent tooth infections are being followed for up to a year.
