Sitting all day? study tests if quick walks can protect your health
NCT ID NCT05709379
Summary
This study aimed to understand if taking short activity breaks during long periods of sitting can improve health markers like blood sugar and cholesterol, and whether the intensity of the break matters. It involved 25 adults with mostly desk jobs who tried three different sitting patterns: one with short, easy walks, one with short, brisk walks, and a control. Researchers measured their blood and cognitive performance to see which pattern was most beneficial.
