Stem cell secretions vs. PRP: which injection grows more hair?
NCT ID NCT07429253
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tests whether injections of secretome (a substance made by stem cells) or platelet-rich plasma (PRP) can improve hair density and thickness in people with androgenetic alopecia (common baldness). Forty men and women with mild to moderate hair loss will receive injections every two weeks for eight weeks. The goal is to see which treatment works better for regrowing hair.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Secretome (stem cell byproducts) and Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) injections
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a new, non-surgical treatment for common hair loss using stem cell secretions.
What could go wrong
This is a very small, early-phase trial (40 people) comparing two experimental injections. Results may not apply to everyone, and long-term safety or effectiveness is unknown.
