First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study will check if dental sealants (protective coatings) stay on teeth longer when placed on healthy enamel or on teeth with very early decay. About 420 children and teens aged 7 to 18 will take part, and sealant retention will be checked at 3, 6, and 12 months. The results will help dentists decide the best way to use sealants to prevent cavities.
