Sea buckthorn tea tested as weight loss aid for overweight women
NCT ID NCT07313423
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study is testing whether drinking a cup of sea buckthorn tea every day for 12 weeks can help overweight women improve their body measurements, like weight, BMI, waist-hip ratio, and belly fat. Sixty women aged 18 to 50 with a BMI between 25 and 30 will be split into two groups: one drinks the tea, the other does not. The goal is to see if this simple, natural drink can make a difference in body composition.
What this could mean

What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a natural supplement to help manage weight and reduce visceral fat in overweight women.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial with only 60 participants. The supplement may have no effect on body composition, and results may not apply to men or other populations.
