New immunotherapy combo aims to improve First-Line lung cancer treatment

NCT ID NCT07662395

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether a new drug called SCTB41, when combined with chemotherapy, works better than the standard immunotherapy tislelizumab plus chemotherapy for people with advanced non-small cell lung cancer that has no targetable genetic mutations. The trial has two parts: an initial safety check in about 30–60 people, followed by a larger phase where 350 participants are randomly assigned to one of the two treatment combinations. The main goal is to see how long the cancer stays under control.

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

SCTB41

What this could lead to

If successful, this could offer a new first-line treatment option for people with advanced non-small cell lung cancer who have no targetable genetic mutations.

What could go wrong

This is an early-to-mid-stage trial, so the experimental drug may not prove more effective or safer than the existing standard. Side effects from combining immunotherapy with chemotherapy can be significant.
