Gentler chemo tested to save 'Bubble Boy' babies
NCT ID NCT03619551
Summary
This study is for infants with a severe genetic immune deficiency called SCID. It compares two different, lower doses of chemotherapy given before a stem cell transplant. The goal is to see if a lower dose can help the baby's new immune system develop properly while causing fewer short and long-term side effects. Doctors will measure success by whether the child can respond to vaccines after the transplant.
