Scientists use ultrasound to 'Feel' nerve stiffness in real time
NCT ID NCT07136441
Summary
This study aims to better understand sciatic nerve stiffness in people with low back and leg pain (sciatica). Researchers will use a special ultrasound technique called shear-wave elastography to measure how stiff the nerve gets during two different leg movement tests. They will compare measurements from 30 people with sciatica to 30 people without pain to see if the tests can help improve diagnosis.
