Summary
This study tested a new school-based curriculum designed to prevent e-cigarette, tobacco, and betel (areca) nut use among middle school students in Guam. Researchers worked with 538 students aged 11-15 to see if culturally tailored lessons and videos could reduce their use and interest in these substances. The goal is to lower cancer risks in a community with high rates of tobacco and betel nut use.
