Summary
This study tested whether a new medication called ITI-007 could help reduce symptoms in people experiencing a schizophrenia flare-up. 696 adults with schizophrenia participated, taking either ITI-007, a placebo, or an existing antipsychotic medication for 6 weeks. Researchers measured changes in symptoms using standard psychiatric rating scales to see if ITI-007 worked better than placebo or similarly to current treatments.
