First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study checked how well different tests can detect Schistosoma haematobium, a parasite that causes a serious disease, in an area where infections are now rare. Over 800 schoolchildren in Pemba, Tanzania, provided urine samples to compare standard and new diagnostic methods. The goal is to find reliable tests for monitoring and eventually eliminating the disease.
