Summary
This study tests a device that filters blood to reduce inflammation in people with severe heart failure and worsening kidney function. The goal is to see if it is safe and can improve heart and kidney health enough to make patients eligible for a heart pump. The study involves 20 adults in the ICU who will receive daily 4-hour treatments for up to 6 days and be followed for 6 months.
