New cream tested in battle against unsightly scars

Summary
This study aims to find out if a cream containing chitosan is effective at preventing thick, raised scars after a wound has healed. Researchers will compare it against two other common treatments: silicone gel and olive oil. About 120 adults with recent surgical or injury scars will apply one of the three treatments twice daily for 8 weeks and have their scars checked over 24 weeks.
