First seen Feb 23, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study tested two hands-on treatments—muscle energy technique and a modified active release technique—in 46 adults with chronic shoulder blade pain. The goal was to see which better reduced pain, improved chest expansion, and eased daily disability. Participants received one of the two therapies over several weeks, and their progress was tracked with pain scales and movement measurements.
