Doctors test if numbing the scalp calms the brain during surgery
NCT ID NCT06984653
Summary
This study observed patients during brain surgery to see if a scalp nerve block affects their brain wave patterns and blood pressure when special pins are placed to hold the head still. Researchers compared 88 patients who received either the nerve block or just local numbing at the pin sites. The goal was to gather information to help anesthesiologists keep patients more stable and comfortable during this part of the operation.
