New nerve block could make brain surgery less painful
NCT ID NCT07496632
Summary
This study is testing whether an ultrasound-guided nerve block in the scalp can help control blood pressure and heart rate during brain surgery while also reducing pain afterward. Researchers will compare this approach to standard local anesthesia in 72 adults undergoing elective brain surgery. The goal is to see if the nerve block provides better pain relief with fewer side effects from opioid pain medications.
