Eye drop for blinding disease gets first human safety check
NCT ID NCT06969001
Summary
This was an early-stage study to see if a new eye drop called SCAI-005 is safe for people. Researchers gave the drops to 48 healthy Korean adults to check for side effects and measure how the drug moves through the body. The goal is to develop a potential new treatment for wet age-related macular degeneration, a leading cause of vision loss.
