Summary
This large Italian study aimed to understand how well standard scabies treatments work in real-world settings and track how the skin condition spreads. Researchers observed over 1,300 patients and their close contacts to see which treatments succeeded or failed and to gather data on who gets scabies. The goal was to collect information to help improve future care, not to test a new cure.
