Simple skin care & imaging could slash surgery complications for sarcoma patients

NCT ID NCT06712433

Summary

This study is testing whether two low-cost, safe strategies can reduce the risk of major wound problems after treatment for soft tissue sarcoma in the leg. Patients will use a special nasal ointment and body wash before and during radiation therapy, and surgeons will use a special dye and camera during surgery to check blood flow before closing the wound. The goal is to see if this combination helps wounds heal better and prevents infections or the need for more operations.
