Summary
This study tests whether giving the antibiotic azithromycin to pregnant women and their babies can prevent stillbirths and deaths in the first year of life. Over 99,000 participants in Mali, where infant death rates are very high, are taking part. The goal is to see if this simple, low-cost treatment can save lives during routine care.
