Cleaner neighborhoods, stronger vaccines? study investigates link

NCT ID NCT03313128

Summary

This study aimed to understand if having access to better sanitation improves how well the oral rotavirus vaccine works in infants. Researchers followed 261 babies in low-income neighborhoods of Maputo, Mozambique, comparing those living in areas with improved sanitation to those without. They measured the babies' immune response to the vaccine and checked for other gut infections to see if cleaner environments led to better vaccine protection.
