Deep underground: can ancient salt mines ease modern lung disease?
NCT ID NCT07122544
Summary
This study is testing whether doing breathing and strength exercises in the unique underground climate of a historic salt mine helps people with COPD more than doing the same exercises above ground. Researchers will compare 80 adults with stable COPD across four groups: exercise in the mine, exercise above ground, just sitting in the mine, or just getting health education. They will measure changes in how far participants can walk, their breathing strength, and their overall quality of life.
