Scientists probe salt mystery in chronic dizziness condition

NCT ID NCT00581633

Summary

This study aims to understand how people with chronic dizziness and rapid heartbeat when standing (called orthostatic intolerance or POTS) process salt differently than healthy individuals. Researchers will compare 30 participants—some with the condition and some healthy controls—by measuring how their bodies handle and excrete salt. The goal is to gather basic knowledge about this condition's underlying mechanisms, not to test a treatment.
