Saliva swab could replace pee tests for Cushing's diagnosis
NCT ID NCT03974789
First seen Nov 17, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study is testing whether a simple, inexpensive saliva test can accurately diagnose Cushing's syndrome, a condition where the body produces too much cortisol. Researchers will compare two automated saliva test methods in 380 adults who are already being checked for high cortisol levels. The goal is to find reliable cut-off values that could make diagnosis easier and more accessible.
