First seen May 02, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study tests whether soaking the skin with salt water (saline) for 5-10 minutes each day can reduce severe skin burns caused by radiation therapy. About 150 adults with head and neck cancer or sarcoma will be randomly assigned to get standard care alone or standard care plus daily saline soaks. Researchers will check if the soaks lower the chance of serious skin reactions and help the skin heal faster.
