Common asthma drug tested to protect lungs in obesity surgery

NCT ID NCT07378605

Summary

This study is testing whether giving a common asthma medication called salbutamol during weight-loss surgery can make breathing easier for patients on a ventilator. Researchers will measure breathing pressures and energy in the lungs during surgery and check if patients have fewer lung problems afterward. The goal is to see if this simple, one-time dose helps protect the lungs of obese patients during and after their operation.
