Brain zap therapy offers hope for new moms in days, not weeks

NCT ID NCT07210255

Summary

This study is testing whether a fast-acting brain stimulation treatment called SAINT can help women with postpartum depression who haven't improved with standard care. The treatment involves magnetic pulses to specific brain areas over 5 days, aiming to provide rapid relief from depression symptoms. Researchers will compare SAINT to a sham treatment in 192 women within their first year postpartum, following them for six months to see if benefits last.
